Turn supplied holdings files into a traceable view of issuer exposure. Start with a ready-to-send data request, then import, review and analyse.
Bring your managers’ holdings files. Combine legal issuer exposures across funds, see overlapping holdings and identify missing data. Free, with no account required.
Files and inputs stay in this browser tab. They are not uploaded, put into links or saved automatically. Refreshing clears them. Downloaded reports contain your imported information; store and share them appropriately.
Copy this request, add the fund names and a common valuation date, then send it through your usual adviser contact. Ask for Excel or CSV with a field guide. A factsheet’s top ten holdings will leave most of the portfolio unresolved.
This is a Portfolio Lab fallback layout, not an ASISA reporting template. Keep a manager’s established reporting format where possible. The importer lets you select the matching columns.
| Field | What to provide |
|---|---|
| fund_id | Stable identifier for the fund or sleeve. Use the same ID in your portfolio allocation and underlying fund references. |
| security_id / security_name | ISIN or stable instrument code, plus description. Give cash rows a unique code. Do not include account numbers. |
| issuer_id / issuer_name | Legal issuer ID and name, preferably an LEI. Use one consistent ID scheme across files. Leave unknown IDs blank; do not substitute the manager or parent group. |
| holding_type | security for ordinary shares, bonds or bank deposits with a known issuer; fund for pooled holdings; cash for cash without issuer allocation; unsupported for derivatives or other exposure methods. |
| underlying_fund_id | For a fund holding, the ID of the underlying holdings file. Leave blank if unavailable; it stays unresolved. |
| weight_pct | Signed percentage: 6.5 means 6.5%; -2.5 or (2.5) means negative 2.5%. Confirm whether this is market value / NAV or manager-reported exposure. Include cash and liabilities. Never rescale a partial list. |
| exposure_basis (optional column) | nav for market-value/NAV weights; reported for manager-reported exposure percentages. Without this column, select the basis once for each file. Do not mix bases or incompatible exposure definitions. |
| valuation_date | YYYY-MM-DD, the same date throughout. Use separate exports for different dates. |
The ASISA Investment Reporting Standard describes an established investment reporting template which is not itself a look-through report. Ask for underlying files separately where needed and permitted. This importer does not claim certified ASISA format support.
Choose a worksheet and match its columns. Dates and fund IDs can be supplied once for a whole file. Positive and negative positions are supported. Choose the exposure basis for each file. Derivatives and other unsupported positions retain their signed amounts as unresolved items.
Up to 2,000 rows per worksheet and 10,000 imported holdings in total. Keep source values; formula cells must be pasted as values. Select the holdings rows to exclude extra headings, totals and footers. Account for any holdings outside that range separately. Files are never automatically matched to online databases.
Enter your allocation across the fund IDs you imported, totalling 100%. For direct holdings, import them as a separate sleeve, with holdings weighted within that sleeve, then enter the sleeve’s share here.
| Fund or direct sleeve ID | Portfolio weight (%) | |
|---|---|---|
Allocation total: 100.00%. Imported rows: 0.
A 40% allocation to a fund holding 6% in an issuer contributes 2.4% to your portfolio’s exposure to that issuer. Matching legal issuer IDs are combined. Pooled funds expand only when you supply an explicit underlying fund ID and its holdings. With NAV weights, an unexplained net balance remains unresolved. This balance cannot measure offsetting missing positions. Reported exposure percentages are kept as supplied, with no inferred balancing amount. Neither basis is rescaled to look complete.
Dates and exposure bases must match. Signed holdings and linear fund look-through preserve negative contributions. Positive, negative, gross and net totals are shown for each issuer and data-gap category. Duplicate positions, conflicting issuer names and net NAV weights above 100% stop the analysis. Root fund allocations remain between 0% and 100%, totalling 100%. Reported exposure totals can exceed 100%; their completeness and compatibility require manager confirmation. Missing files, missing issuer IDs, cash without issuer allocation, unsupported positions and circular fund links are reported separately. A negative cash or accounting balance is not automatically a short security. Gross supplied amounts are not a measure of leverage or regulatory exposure. The tool does not calculate derivative sensitivities, counterparty exposure, collateral offsets, eligible legal netting, guarantee or parent-group aggregation, or Regulation 28 limits.
Public manager files vary in format and completeness. PDF disclosures are not imported directly, and a portfolio composition file may differ from the fund’s full accounting holdings. No manager-specific adapter or automatic legal issuer matching is certified. Review the mapped data and reconcile the results with your manager’s report before relying on them professionally.
